A family sport

The pictures show a family sharing an activity they love together — finally.

Two years ago, Elyse learned about a program from her daughter that would allow her son Miles, who suffered HIE as a baby, to be able to ski.

“She came home and was so excited to tell me how there were kids with different disabilities skiing and how Miles could ski too,” Elyse said.

Once Miles turned 6 and was old enough, he joined Achieve Tahoe, an adaptive skiing program, that helps people with disabilities participate in outdoor sports.

Now, Miles is able to head to the slopes, and Rose is able to ski with her brother.

“He loves it so much! Rose loves to ski with Miles. It’s the coolest thing ever!’ Elyse said.
