Ravi and Sarah Shah invite you to celebrate as their son, Kiran gets ready to turn ONE by raising a glass to him and raising support for Hope for HIE.
“We wanted to give back to the foundation that gave us so much hope, support, and piece of mind. Kiran was diagnosed with HIE (hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy), a type of brain dysfunction due to the loss of blood flow or oxygen to the brain at birth. When Kiran was rushed to the NICU and put on a cooling mat for the first couple days of life, we were in a haze of confusion and fear. Hope for HIE reached out right away and through resources and support, we realized we were far from alone.”
Thanks to BarleyPop, $1 from every beer on tap will be going to Hope for HIE on Thursday, November 18th. There will also be a beer raffle basket advertised ahead of time. Additional details to follow. Money raised will help provide newly diagnosed families with care packages, hospitalization support, bereavement support, medical outreach initiatives and more.
Donations can also be made online in honor of Kiran’s first birthday by donating online, or mailing a check to Hope for HIE, PO BOX 250472, West Bloomfield, MI 48324.
The Shahs will be there from 5pm to 8pm CST. Stop in, have a beer, root beer, kombucha, or seltzer; all from their expansive tap list, and help us give back to the HIE community!
