From Insight to Impact: How Your Feedback is Shaping HIE Sleep Research

August 30th, 2024  | News  | Research  | Resources  | Sleep

Remember earlier this year when we asked our HIE families to share about sleep issues and HIE?

Well, this community-driven effort has culminated in these published results! This achievement, made possible by Dr. Renée Shellhaas and her research team at WASHU, the continued support of Hope’s Medical Advisory Board, and – most importantly – our HIE families, is a collaborative triumph that not only highlights the importance of addressing sleep disorders but also paves the way for future research.

The survey results have yielded many interesting findings, including how addressing sleep disorders might not only help kids sleep better but could also boost their behavior and development. You can see this conclusion and more in the above-linked study, but you can also watch our Q&A with Dr. Shellhaas and read that session’s key takeaways for an additional breakdown of how the concerns our community has raised are driving real solutions.

Thanks to your continued support and engagement, this can turn into funded research studies to drive better care and find solutions to sleep issues and disorders!
