Give HOPE this holiday season

November 16th, 2017  | Give Hope  |  By ANN GOELLER

As we kick off this year’s holiday giving campaign, we want to take a moment to show you where your donations go when you make a donation to Hope for HIE.

We are a non-profit organization focused on providing resources and support to the families of children who have suffered HIE, or hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy. We are entirely run by volunteers, who are parents of children with HIE. And we represent thousands of families across the globe with all outcomes, from children who are unaffected by their injury to those we have lost.

When you give to Hope for HIE, your donation supports our mission of helping families impacted by HIE.

That means helping fund annual retreats for parents to meet and build relationships with other families impacted by HIE. That means helping develop and distribute resources for both medical professionals and NICUs around the world to help families find us and find the support so many are desperately in need of. That means continuing our outreach efforts to support families new to the HIE journey, enduring a hospital stay or going through the worst loss imaginable.

Your support has been essential in those past efforts and in our continued mission to help our families in any way possible.

Last year, after a very successful holiday campaign, we were able to fund a giveaway for our families with everything from paying for expenses for mothers attending our retreats to therapy equipment and swag to help promote awareness of HIE. We plan to continue that tradition this year.

We ask you to consider giving hope this holiday season, and there are multiple ways you can help.

One of the best ways is to host your own fundraiser through Facebook. Setting up a fundraiser is easy and gives you a chance to easily respond to the repeated question from friends and family: how can we help?

We will also be selling holiday-themed shirts this year, which you can purchase through Bonfire to both support Hope for HIE and promote awareness of HIE.

And, as always, you can donate through our website at hopeforhie.org.

We will be sharing stories of families affected by HIE and how they have been impacted by being a part of Hope for HIE. We would love to hear your stories and you can submit them to annie@hopeforhie.org.

Thank you for your continued support and giving hope for the holidays. We couldn’t do any of this without you.
