Hope for HIE is thrilled to welcome Jennifer Schaefer, CAPSW, to the team as our new Social Worker. Jen brings over 17 years of social work experience, with direct NICU experience spending the last seven years working for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Level IV NICU.
In her role, Jen will be leading and managing support programming for HIE families, providing social work services for the global Hope for HIE community, leading weekly video suppor groups, and building the organization’s referral network with NICUs, PICUs, and others in the support and advocacy network, including the CONNECT Neurological Social Services Network.
She will also be managing Hope for HIE’s Peer Support Mentorship program, and expanding Hope for HIE’s hospital ambassador program.
Allison Moise has taken on an expanded role within Hope for HIE as Peer Support Coordinator working with the social worker to facilitate the Peer Support Mentorship program, and continues as the Clinical Trials Peer Support Lead for the organization’s research partnerships. Allison holds a bachelor’s degree in social work. She has been a consistent, instrumental piece of our team, an incredible advocate for HIE families, and a long-standing HIE parent in the community.
