Chef Stefano Benso’s Bio:

Born in Staten Island (NY), at the age of 7 Chef Stefano Benso moved to Mola di Bari, a beautiful town on the Adriatic Sea in Puglia (Italy). He grew up in the kitchen, always trying to observe and copy his mother cooking.

During his high school and college years he spent time working in kitchens and bars to pay for his studies.

In 2013, after 17 years in Italy he moved back to the United States, where he met his wife, Courtney.

She conquered his heart because she liked authentic Italian food… and he worked his way to her heart by cooking this for her.

In 2019, they had their first child, Lino ! He suffered at birth from HIE, and eventually they found themselves part of this wonderful community.

In 2020 during the pandemic, Chef Stefano found himself home furloughed from his job. During this time, he founded 3moons, a micro business that focuses on promoting Gastronomy and Authentic Apulian cuisine through private dining, cooking classes and catering events. In the past year due to Lino’s condition, and his own health, he has focused on learning more and more about food and mainly nutrition, earning certificates from Harvard Medical School and Stanford University in nutrition and child nutrition , as one day he would love to create recipes for kids that like Lino struggle with food intake.
