Annie Gunning, CCLS joins Hope for HIE providing Child Life Services

Annie Gunning, CCLS, is joining Hope for HIE to provide Child Life services for our Hope for HIE community.

Annie has been a certified Child Life Specialist for over 22 years in both the inpatient and community setting. She is available to support the entire family system through child life interventions that aim to minimize the immediate and long-term effects of stress, anxiety, and psychosocial trauma related to significant life experiences and medical life.

Services include:

  • Parental support and coaching on child development, responses and behaviors. 
  • Sibling support
  • Hospitalization support
  • Supportive conversations around diagnosis, prognosis or end-of-life
  • Bereavement support
  • Coping plan development
  • Education on advocacy and medical life

All communication with the CCLS and families can be done via email, phone call or Zoom.
